Kinneret Zmora-Bitan Dvir
Kinneret Zmora-Bitan Dvir is the leading trade publishing company in Israel. The component imprints represent a rich legacy of Israeli publishing that pre-dates the establishment of the State of Israel.
Our first imprint, Dvir, is the most prestigious publishing house in Israel, originally founded in Odessa, 1919by the Jewish national poet, Haim Nachman Bialik. Following the Russian Revolution, the company was moved to Berlin and later, in 1924, to Israel.
Established by the grandfather of the current C.E.O., Israel Zmora, Machbarot Lesifrut dates back to 1939 and today serves as our showcase imprint for the best in international literary fiction.
Zmora-Bitan Publishers (ZBM) was established in 1973 by Ohad Zmora. In 1986 ZBM acquired Dvir, together with its affiliates Karni and Megiddo. The ZBM list includes classics of world and Hebrew literature, contemporary fiction and non-fiction, children's books, politics, biography and psychology.
